Born in 1921, James is literally a voice of experience. James has worn many hats over the years…. World War II veteran; author; church and civic leader; funeral director for Bass Funeral Home; Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); husband of nearly 63 years; father to 3 children; grandfather to 3; former General Counsel to National Telecommunications Cooperative Association (NTCA) for over 47 years; general counsel to Smith Utility District for over 50 years and attorney since graduating from Vanderbilt Law School in 1949!
Still active, James can be found on the job at Bass and Bass every morning by 7:15. Primarily, James practices in probate and estates, business law and real estate. A walking history book, he is the human equivalent of Wikipedia.
A graduate of Cumberland School of Law, David has practice law with his father since 1984. Along the way, David has served 8 years as General Sessions Judge and Juvenile Court Judge for Smith County; served as city attorney for the city of Carthage for nearly 20 years; and closed thousands of real estate transactions. In addition to a comprehensive real estate practice, David also handles will, probate and estates matters; adoptions and business-related services.
David’s passion over the years include Boy Scouts; Smith County Habitat for Humanity, Inc.; youth counselor at church; playing the guitar; singing in the Carthage United Methodist Church and following the Green Bay Packers, of which he is the proud owner of one share of stock in the Packers.
Tiffany Angel has been the backbone of Bass and Bass since she walked through the door in July 1999. An avid runner, Tiffany possesses the organizational skills of a juggler, keeping Bass and Bass on tract. Tiffany is our office manager; administrative assistant and paralegal. She is the complete package!
